What does women empowerment mean? Women empowerment refers to the
process of giving women control over their choices and access to the
opportunities and resources that allow them to thrive. While there’s been
progress, gender inequality remains a persistent issue in the world. Empowering
women politically, socially economically, educationally, and psychologically
helps narrow the gap.
During the earlier
times, women in the society were considered the weaker sex and men are the
superior sex. Women were only given notion to perform the household chores,
take care of their children and submit to their husband because they were
blinded by the thought that men are superior and women are weak. The women were
always belittled by men and they don’t have the right to speak up for
themselves and also don’t have the right to vote.
But as time went by, because of education,
women managed to be the individual that they are now. Women now have a great
impact in a country’s development. They have become the foundation of a smooth
and stable community and making a change in the society. From being a plain
housewives and caretakers of their homes, they are now showing their
capabilities in different professions that were only for men in the past. We
now have women educators, entrepreneurs, manager’s, frontliners, and even in
the world of politics. Women can match a man’s capabilities such as teaching,
running a business and be great leaders and serve the people. A lot of woman
have made a lot of contributions in our country’s development, but they were
not appreciated. But things changed. Women of today are now equal to men, maybe
even better than men. They now have the freedom to speak and voice out their
personal opinions. They are now a lot wiser than before. They know their
self-worth and won’t let other people belittle them or bring them down. Women
capabilities are now at par with that of men. Women are not just women. They
are more than that. Time may come that women may make a big change for our
country’s progress and development.
There is no tool for
development more effective than the empowerment of women!
